So what is a QEEG?

A QEEG or Quantitative Electroencephalogram is a non-invasive technique that detects and measures the brain’s electrical patterns (known as brainwaves).

More familiar brain imaging techniques such as MRIs, CAT scans and X-Rays are designed to measure brain structure, whereas a QEEG measures brain activity and function and those measurements can be interpreted to tell us how well a brain is functioning.

A QEEG is for everybody as it provides objective data from all areas of your brain. This allows us to correlate these results to how you are feeling.

Undergoing a QEEG assessment is non-invasive, painless, quick and convenient.

What does a QEEG measure?

During a QEEG assessment, we measure electrical brain activity which is gathered as data and then computer processed into maps, graphs and images that help us understand how a brain is functioning.

These brain map readings give us vital information to help identify areas, if any, of over or under-activity within the brain.

Combining this with our expert clinical experience and analysis of how a person is feeling, we can fully understand how their brain is functioning and, if needed, advise on appropriate interventions according to their specific results.

The results are then reviewed and explained in a private feedback session with a TranQuality Life Coach.
